Easy Lasagna (One Pan/Skillet)
Description
This skillet lasagna starts by cooking Italian sausage and ground beef with diced onion and garlic in a large ovenproof pan until browned and cooked through. The meat is then simmered with marinara sauce and drained diced tomatoes to build a flavorful sauce. Part of the sauce is reserved for layering.
Ricotta cheese is combined with egg, Parmesan, salt, and pepper to form a creamy layer. Fresh lasagna noodles, cut to fit the skillet if needed, are layered alternately with the meat sauce mixture, ricotta blend, and shredded mozzarella. This layering is repeated, ending with noodles topped with sauce and cheeses.
Baked covered, then uncovered, at 375°F until bubbly and golden, the lasagna develops a tender texture with a browned cheesy top. Letting it rest before cutting helps it set for cleaner slices.
Using fresh lasagna noodles reduces cooking time and blending sausage with beef adds depth of flavor. The one-pan method cuts down cleanup and is suitable for home cooks who want classic lasagna without assembling in a baking dish.
