Easy Mango Compote Recipe
Description
This simple compote requires just mango, sugar, and citrus juice cooked together on medium heat for about 10 minutes while stirring frequently. The cooking softens the mango pieces and allows the sugar and citrus acids to create a thickened sauce rich in mango flavor with a zesty balance from the lime and lemon juice.
The compote’s texture is versatile and can be used to complement breakfast dishes or desserts, bringing a fresh fruit element without the need for added preservatives or thickeners.
It can be enjoyed immediately warm or cooled for later use, making it a convenient homemade fruit topping.
