Easy Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

Report
These cinnamon rolls combine the sweet warmth of classic cinnamon rolls with the smoky crunch of maple-glazed bacon incorporated directly inside and sprinkled on top. The recipe uses refrigerated Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, enhancing them with chopped maple-browned bacon for a rich sweet-savory contrast. Baking the bacon inside the rolls adds a chewy, smoky texture paired with the soft, fluffy dough beneath the glaze’s added maple flavor. This treat works well for breakfast or brunch when you want an indulgent twist on a familiar pastry.

Description

Easy Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls enhance pre-made cinnamon rolls by folding in chopped crispy bacon coated with a maple syrup and brown sugar glaze. The bacon is oven-baked twice—first to crisp, then again after glazing to intensify the caramelized maple flavor. After chopping, bacon pieces are spaced evenly inside each cinnamon roll before re-rolling. The rolls bake according to package directions in a greased pan, then are topped with a maple-syrup enhanced glaze mixed from the included frosting packet and maple syrup. Additional chopped bacon tops the finished rolls, adding crispy texture and rich, sweet-savory notes. The combination of maple sweetness and smoky bacon creates a layered flavor profile that makes these cinnamon rolls more complex and interesting. The soft, cinnamon-spiced dough contrasts with the bacon’s chewiness, while the sticky glaze binds it all together. This dish is suitable for a weekend breakfast or brunch when you want a treat with a balance of savory and sweet elements. It requires some intermediate prep but uses mainly store-bought bases for convenience.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 can cinnamon rolls Pillsbury brand
  • 8 pieces Bacon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup + 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lay strips of bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet. When oven is up to temperature, place baking sheet in the oven and set the timer for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove baking pan from oven. Paint bacon with a mixture of 2 TB brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup. Return bacon to oven and cook for 15 more minutes, until crispy.
  3. When bacon has finished cooking, set aside to cool. Reduce oven temperature to 350°.
  4. Chop bacon into small pieces. Unroll each cinnamon roll, place a few pieces of bacon along the inside (spaced about an inch apart) and re-roll cinnamon rolls, reserving half of the bacon for topping. Place cinnamon rolls inside a greased round cake pan and cook according to directions on Pillsbury package.
  5. Prepare the maple glaze by whisking together the frosting that comes in the package with 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
  6. When rolls have finished baking, remove from oven and coat with the maple glaze. Sprinkle remaining chopped bacon on top.
