Description

  • 1/2 cup milk skim
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce plus extra for brushing on after baking
  • 1/2 cup white onion finely chopped, or yellow onion
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together bread crumbs, milk, chili sauce, onion, egg, salts, and pepper until well-combined.
  3. Add ground beef, and mix until just combined.
  4. Shape into a loaf in a 9x5-inch baking pan.
  5. Bake 55-60 minutes, or until done.
  6. Brush on additional chili sauce, if desired.

Notes

  • Leftover meatloaf can be frozen for up to 3 months; slice before freezing for easier thawing.
  • To reheat, thaw completely and warm in the oven at 305°F until heated through.
  • You can use ketchup or barbecue sauce instead of chili sauce if preferred.
  • Allow meatloaf to rest 10 minutes after baking before slicing to retain moisture.
