Easy monster cookie bars

These Easy Monster Cookie Bars combine smooth peanut butter and butter with brown sugar and vanilla to create a rich, chewy cookie base. Flour, baking powder, and salt provide structure, while chocolate chunks and M&M's give bursts of chocolate and colorful crunch. Baked until golden, they are a fun, soft-textured treat suitable for slicing and sharing.

Description

The recipe mixes softened smooth peanut butter, butter, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, adding vanilla extract and eggs to build moisture and bind the dough. Flour is incorporated gradually along with baking powder and salt to leaven and season the bars. Chocolate chunks and M&M candies are folded in, providing chocolate sweetness and a playful color contrast.

The dough is pressed into a parchment-lined baking pan, optionally topped with extra M&M's and edible googly eyes for decoration, then baked until the edges are golden and a skewer tests clean. Cooling completely before slicing helps maintain bar shape and texture.

The resulting bars are chewy with a rich peanut butter flavor, balanced by chocolate and candy pieces. They are suited for snack times, parties, or dessert when a handheld sweet treat is desired.
