Easy Mushroom Rice
Description
This recipe begins by sautéing sliced cremini mushrooms in butter until they develop caramelized edges, enriching their natural earthy flavor. After removing the mushrooms, diced onions are cooked with salt, black pepper, thyme, and additional butter until golden brown, establishing a flavorful base.
Minced garlic and the sautéed mushrooms return to the pot for a brief cook before adding raw rice and broth. The rice simmers covered over low heat until fully tender, absorbing the broth's flavor and the savory mushroom and herb notes.
After cooking, the rice rests covered to allow flavors to meld and the texture to set before serving. The finished dish has a tender grain with a slightly creamy texture enriched by the butter and aromatic mushrooms, ideal alongside meats or as a vegetarian accompaniment.
