Easy Nutella Coffee Latte (3-ingredients)
Description
The Easy Nutella Coffee Latte starts with either a hot espresso shot or instant coffee dissolved in hot water, which forms the coffee base. Two heaping tablespoons of stirred Nutella are added and dissolved into the coffee, providing a thick chocolate and hazelnut flavor note. Steamed milk heated just until steaming (but not boiling) is frothed by whisking to form foam, then poured over the chocolate coffee mixture, creating a layered latte with a foamy milk cap.
The method is simple, requiring minimal ingredients and conventional kitchen tools. An optional one-step blending method yields a brown foam and smooth consistency if preferred.
This beverage serves as a sweetened coffee treat suitable for mornings or afternoons, offering a dessert-like coffee experience in a cup. Variations allow different milk types or extra chocolate additions for richer flavor.
Garnishing the cup rim with a Nutella-brown sugar-cocoa mix topped with whipped cream creates a decadent presentation and contrast of hot and cold textures, enhancing the drinking experience.
Ingredients
- 1 hot espresso Substitute: 1 Tablespoon of instant coffee powder dissolved in ½ Cup of hot water
- 2 heaping Tablespoons Nutella Stir before scooping. Substitute: any chocolate hazelnut spread, spread
- ¾ Cup milk Substitute: any milk of choice e.g. cashew milk, hazelnut milk, oat milk, soy milk etc, whole
Instructions
- If using instant coffee, dissolve the instant coffee powder in the hot water. Skip this step if using espresso.
- Stir the nutella, then scoop 2 tablespoons into the hot coffee/ espresso. Stir well to dissolve- you'll have some chocolate spread left on the spoon. Feel free to lick it off! (Make sure not to contaminate your Nutella jar with coffee or saliva!)
- Gently heat milk on the stove till steaming. Once the milk is steaming (don't let it boil), switch off the fire and whisk till frothy (about 30 seconds.)
- Pour the foamy milk into your nutella coffee. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can blend all ingredients for 30 seconds to create a smooth, frothy Nutella latte in one step, though the foam will be brown.
- Use any chocolate hazelnut spread if Nutella is unavailable.
- Various milk types such as cashew, oat, or soy milk can be substituted according to preference.
- For an extra rich drink, spread a Nutella mixture with brown sugar and cocoa powder on the cup rim and top with whipped cream.
- Adding more chocolate spread or chocolate pieces into the coffee enhances the chocolate flavor further.
