Easy Old Fashioned Salmon Patties
Description
Easy Old Fashioned Salmon Patties start with canned salmon, drained and gently broken apart. Grated red onion and finely chopped green onion add freshness and bite, while dried dill, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning contribute herbal and savory depth. The mixture is bound with eggs and mayonnaise, seasoned to taste, then combined with crushed Ritz crackers, which provide structure and moisture absorption.
Fried in a non-stick pan at medium-low heat, the patties crisp on the outside and remain tender inside. The balance of seasonings and the mild sweetness of the crackers give the patties a comforting home-cooked flavor. These patties can be served warm as a main dish or alongside salad or bread, suitable for casual dining.
Tasting the mixture before adding salt is recommended since canned salmon, crackers, and mayo often contain sufficient saltiness. Adjust seasoning as needed for balanced flavor.
