Easy Oreo Fudge
Description
This dessert is made by melting white chocolate with sweetened condensed milk over low heat while stirring constantly to avoid graininess and ensure a smooth mixture. Oreo cookies are broken into large chunks and stirred into the melted chocolate mixture, taking care not to turn them into crumbs to maintain distinct texture.
The fudge is poured into an 8-inch square pan lined with parchment paper for easy removal. Additional broken Oreo pieces are sprinkled on top before chilling in the refrigerator for about an hour to firm up. The result is a creamy, sweet fudge with embedded cookie pieces providing crunch and chocolate flavor.
For best texture, the fudge should be cut with a sharp, clean knife wiped between cuts. Using higher-quality white chocolate improves the final taste and mouthfeel. This fudge can be made into different shapes with cookie cutters and stored refrigerated until served.
Ingredients
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk can
- 18 oz white chocolate or chocolate chips - chopped
- 24 Oreo cookies
Instructions
- Line an 8" x 8″ baking dish with parchment paper; the paper should hang on two opposite sides for easy fudge removal.
- Set aside 4 Oreos and place the remaining ones in a ziplock bag. Break them into large chunks without fully crushing them.
- Place a small saucepan over medium-low heat and add condensed milk and white chocolate, stirring constantly until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Mix the cookie pieces into the chocolate mixture and pour into the prepared pan.
- Break the remaining four cookies into pieces and sprinkle on top.
- Refrigerate for one hour. Cut into squares and serve!
Notes
- Melt chocolate gently using low heat or microwave in short intervals to avoid burning or graininess.
- Line the pan with parchment paper to help remove fudge easily after chilling.
- Keep Oreo chunks large and avoid incorporating cookie dust for cleaner white fudge color and texture.
- Use a sharp knife wiped clean between cuts to maintain smooth edges on fudge squares.
- Higher quality white chocolate enhances fudge flavor and smoothness.
