Ingredients
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 can (300 ml) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 drops Red and blue food coloring
- 2 tbsp star sprinkles
Instructions
- Start by lining your baking dish or square pan with parchment paper. This will make it easier to remove and cut the fudge later. Alternatively, you can lightly grease the baking dish with non-stick spray. Set aside.
- To melt the chocolate use the double boiler method, i.e. - place the chocolate chips in a large glass bowl set over a pot of simmering water, occasionally stirring until melted. I find this method to be best for white chocolate so that it doesn’t harden.Alternatively, place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until fully melted and smooth.
- Once the chocolate is melted, pour in the sweetened condensed milk. Mix until well combined.
- Add 2 drops of red and blue food coloring each to the mixture.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan. The colors will nicely swirl as you pour. If needed swirl the colors more together with a knife.
- Top with star-shaped sprinkles over the top of the fudge, gently pressing them into the surface to ensure they stick.
- Place the fudge in the freezer for 30 minutes, or until set. Remove from the freezer and lift up the parchment paper. The fudge will come right out. Cut into 36 squares.
- Arrange your white chocolate fudge pieces on a white platter and add some more sprinkles on top. Serve and indulge in patriotic bliss!
Notes
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure your sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips are at room temperature for smooth melting.
- Use Good Quality Chocolate: For the best results, use high-quality white chocolate chips. They melt more smoothly and taste better.
- Consistent Heating: When melting the chocolate, use short microwave intervals to prevent overheating and ensure a smooth texture.
- Coloring: Start with a small amount of food coloring and add more as needed to achieve the desired shades of red and blue.
- Allow the Fudge to Chill: Don’t rush! Make sure to freeze the fudge for the recommended time to ensure it sets properly. This will make it easier to cut into neat squares.
- Don't Overmix: When swirling in the food coloring, be careful not to overmix the fudge, or you'll lose the marbled effect.
