Easy Peach Lemonade

Easy Peach Lemonade combines bright fresh lemon juice with sweet peach syrup made by simmering peach slices with sugar and water. The resulting drink balances fruity sweetness and citrus tartness, served chilled with ice and garnished with mint leaves for a refreshing beverage option.

Description

The recipe for Easy Peach Lemonade starts by peeling, pitting, and slicing fresh peaches, which are then simmered with water and half of the sugar to create a peach syrup. During cooking, the peaches are mashed to release juices and flavor. The syrup is then strained to remove pulp, leaving a smooth peach base.

Freshly squeezed lemon juice is combined with the syrup, additional sugar to taste, cold water, and ice in a pitcher. This creates a balanced lemonade where sweetness from the peaches and sugar complements the acidity from the lemons. Mint leaves and slices of lemon and peach provide fresh aromatic and visual garnishes.

This lemonade is ideal for serving chilled on warm days as a homemade fruit soda alternative. The process focuses on using fresh fruit and controlling sweetness to suit individual tastes. The drink can be adjusted by varying water or sugar levels.

Ingredients

Servings

For Peach Syrup

  • 4-5 peaches
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sugar divided

For Peach Lemonade

  • 5 lemon plural
  • 4 cups water or to taste, cold
  • ice
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel peaches, remove pits, and slice. Add to a large saucepan with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Boil for about 5-6 minutes. Mash peaches with a potato masher for about a minute. While the peaches are cooking, juice the lemons.
  3. Place a sieve over a bowl and pour peach mixture into the sieve a little at a time, allowing the juices to drain into the bowl. Use a large spoon to help mash the juices through. Once you have gotten all the juice through, discard the remaining peach pulp.
  4. In a large pitcher, stir together peach syrup, lemon juice, the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar (plus more, to taste), water, and ice. Serve with lemon slices, peach slices, and mint leaves for garnish.
