Easy Peel Hard Boiled Eggs

Easy Peel Hard Boiled Eggs are cooked by simmering gently for 15 minutes, then immediately cooled in an ice bath to halt cooking. This method produces eggs with firm whites and a bright yellow yolk that peel cleanly without gray discoloration.

Description

To make Easy Peel Hard Boiled Eggs, eggs are carefully placed into boiling water and simmered gently for 15 minutes. This method ensures thorough cooking while minimizing cracking. Immediately transferring the eggs to an ice bath for five minutes cools them rapidly, stopping the cooking process and helping separate the shell from the white for effortless peeling.

The resulting eggs feature an appealing pale yellow yolk without the green-gray ring that overcooking causes. The smooth, firm whites maintain a tender consistency. This technique provides consistent results ideal for salads, snacks, or meal prep.

Storing unpeeled hard-boiled eggs in the refrigerator keeps them fresh for 5 to 7 days. Peeled eggs should be kept in an airtight container and consumed within 3 to 4 days for best quality.

  • water
  • ice bath

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a rolling boil in a medium pot or saucepan (the KEY for perfect eggs) on high heat. Once the water is boiling, gently place eggs using a strainer ladle or slotted spoon, into the water in a single layer.
  2. Turn the heat down to a gentle simmer, and simmer the eggs for 15 minutes.
  3. Once done, add the eggs to a large bowl of ice water (ice bath) and set a timer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from ice water, and tap on the counter to crack the shell. Peel eggs and see how easy it is to do! And they are perfectly cooked - with a nice no-gray golden yellow yolk!

Notes

  • Refrigerate unpeeled hard-boiled eggs for up to 7 days to maintain freshness.
  • Store peeled eggs in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 3 to 4 days.
