  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease thoroughly with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the corn syrup and sugar over medium heat until simmering/ light boil.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in the peanut butter.
  4. Add the rice krispies to a large bowl and pour the corn syrup mixture on top.
  5. Stir the mixture into the cereal coating thoroughly.
  6. Press the rice krispies cereal mixture into the prepared pan.
  7. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt semisweet chocolate chips and butterscotch chips together. Heat in 30 second intervals to avoid burning. Once smooth and creamy, pour mixture evenly on top of the rice krispies and smooth out in an even layer. Let bars set up before cutting and serving.

Notes

  • For a salty sweet variation, sprinkle sea salt on top of the chocolate layer before fully cooled.
