  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the broccoli head and remove the stem from the crown.
  2. Slice the florets into small pieces.
  3. Add one inch of water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the florets in a steamer basket inside the saucepan.
  5. Cover the pan, and reduce heat to medium.
  6. Steam for 5-7 minutes or until you can pierce the broccoli stalk with a fork easily.
