Easy Soy Mushroom Udon

Easy Soy Mushroom Udon combines tender udon noodles with sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and a blend of light and dark soy sauces. The dish finishes with black pepper, sesame oil, green onions, and sesame seeds for depth and texture, delivering a savory, umami-rich noodle meal with a balanced, slightly smoky soy flavor.

Description

This recipe starts by boiling udon noodles until al dente, then rinsing with cold water to stop cooking and prevent stickiness. Mushrooms are sautéed in vegetable oil until most of their moisture evaporates, concentrating their flavor. Minced garlic is added near the end to infuse aroma without burning.

The cooked noodles return to the pan with a combination of light soy sauce for saltiness and dark soy sauce for deeper color and richness. Ground black pepper provides mild heat, and a drizzle of toasted sesame oil adds a nutty note. Garnishing with chopped green onion and sesame seeds introduces freshness and crunch.

This comforting noodle dish can be served immediately and offers balanced textures from chewy noodles and tender mushrooms. The soy sauce blend creates a harmonious umami base that pairs well with the earthiness of mushrooms and the brightness of garlic and green onions.
