Description
This recipe starts by seasoning chicken thighs with salt and browning them in an oven-proof pan to develop color and flavor. Meanwhile, a glaze combining honey, lemon juice, ground turmeric, curry powder, and black pepper is prepared. After browning, the glaze is poured over the chicken, and the pan is transferred to a preheated oven. The chicken bakes for about 30 minutes, during which the glaze is basted every 10 minutes. Ingredients
- 8 chicken thighs
- salt to taste
for the lemon-turmeric glaze/sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric ground
- ½ teaspoon curry powder
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 200ºc.
- Brown the chicken thighs in an oven-proof pan on both sides, seasoning generously with salt.
- Combine the honey, lemon juice, pepper, turmeric and curry powder and mix well.
- Pour the turmeric mix over the chicken and place in the oven.
- Allow to cook for 30 minutes, basting with the glaze every 10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze has thickened.
- Remove from the oven and serve.
