Easy Taco Meat

This Easy Taco Meat recipe combines browned ground beef with sautéed onion, chipotle pepper, and a blend of spices simmered in beef broth and tomato paste. The result is a richly flavored, smoky taco filling that is versatile for tacos, burritos, or bowls. The use of chipotle and smoked paprika gives a subtle smoky heat that complements the ground beef well. Simmering the mixture allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly for a moist, well-seasoned taco meat.

Description

Easy Taco Meat starts with browning ground beef seasoned simply with salt and pepper. The addition of diced onion sautéed in olive oil adds a sweet depth to the dish. Spices including cumin, smoked paprika, and chopped canned chipotle pepper are toasted briefly to intensify their aroma and flavor before stirring in tomato paste and beef broth. The simmering step softens the chipotle's smokiness and melds all components into a cohesive taco filling with a slightly saucy texture.

The cooked taco meat has a robust smoky and savory flavor, balanced by the mild sweetness of onions and the tomato paste's acidity. The beef remains tender while the broth keeps it juicy without being soupy. This mixture can be spooned into tortillas, used in burritos, or layered into taco bowls with preferred toppings.

The recipe is straightforward and adaptable; adjusting the amount of chipotle pepper can modify the heat level. Using beef broth instead of water adds extra depth, and skipping the broth would yield a drier meat suitable for different preparations.
