Easy Thanksgiving Punch
Description
This Thanksgiving punch blends 24 ounces cranberry juice, 20 ounces orange juice, 8 ounces pineapple juice, and 12 ounces lemon-lime soda such as Sprite, balanced with 12 ounces of cinnamon simple syrup and two tablespoons of grenadine for color and additional sweetness. The cinnamon simple syrup is made by simmering water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks until the sugar dissolves and the syrup absorbs spice flavor. It is then cooled and added to the punch mixture.
The punch is best served chilled and optionally garnished with cranberries and orange slices. Adding the soda just before serving preserves its carbonation and prevents dilution from melting ice in a large batch. This fruit-forward beverage complements fall and holiday meals with sweet, tart, and spiced flavors.
The recipe yields about eight servings but can be doubled or tripled reliably by maintaining ingredient ratios. Leftover punch can be refrigerated and enjoyed within three days. Choosing pulp-free orange juice and 100% cranberry juice ensures a balanced and consistent flavor in the mix.
Ingredients
- 24 oz cranberry juice 3 cups
- 20 oz orange juice 2 1/2 cups
- 12 oz Sprite 1 1/2 cups
- 8 oz pineapple juice 1 cup
- 2 TBS grenadine
- 12 oz simple syrup recipe below, cinnamon flavored
Cinnamon Simple Syrup (Makes 12 oz)
- 8 oz water 1 cup
- 1 cup sugar 1 cup
- 4 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Mix your ingredients together with cinnamon simple syrup and stir until completely combined. Chill until serving.
- Garnish with cranberries, orange slices, whipped cream, and/or sprinkles if desired and serve chilled.
Cinnamon Simple Syrup
- Combine water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks on the stove in a pot over medium-high heat. Heat until the sugar is completely dissolved and the water has a cinnamon flavor, about five minutes.
- Strain simple syrup into a bowl or cup, removing the cinnamon sticks. Allow simple syrup to cool completely.
Notes
- Scale the recipe up or down by keeping ingredient ratios consistent to serve any group size.
- Make the cinnamon simple syrup in advance to cool before mixing into the punch.
- Add soda just before serving to maintain fizziness, and let guests add ice individually to avoid diluting the punch.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Use pulp-free orange juice and 100% cranberry juice for best flavor.
- Avoid cranberry juice cocktails as they can alter the intended taste.
- Sprite is preferred but 7-UP or Sierra Mist can work as alternatives.
