Easy To Peel Hard Boiled Eggs
Description
Easy To Peel Hard Boiled Eggs is a technique that improves the peeling process by incorporating salt and vinegar in the cooking water. The eggs start in cold water to cook gently, reducing cracking chances. Once the water boils, removing it from heat and covering allows residual heat to cook the eggs evenly without overboiling. After 10-12 minutes, transferring them to an ice water bath cools them quickly and halts cooking, firming the eggs for easier shell removal. This method is especially helpful when preparing multiple eggs, as it keeps the eggs intact and peelable.
Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 egg I've made up to a dozen with this method
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
Instructions
- Place three cups of water in the pot, or enough to cover the eggs.
- Add salt to the water to help keep the eggshells from cracking too soon. Add vinegar to water in the pot to make eggshells easier to peel.
- Add eggs to the cold water.
- Bring water to a boil. When the water is boiling, remove pan from heat and cover.
- In another bowl place three cups of cold water and some ice.
- Leave eggs in hot water for 10-12 minutes. Promptly remove the eggs from the hot water, and submerge eggs gently in cold ice water to stop the eggs from cooking.
- Once cool, peel eggs. Enjoy!
