Easy Tuna Burgers (Patties)
Description
These Easy Tuna Burgers are made by combining well-drained canned tuna with saltine cracker crumbs, beaten egg, and finely chopped celery for a subtle crunch. Mayonnaise is added to help hold the mixture together. Formed into five patties, they are cooked in a lightly greased pan over medium heat, about 4 to 5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. The texture balances a firm exterior crust and a moist, tender inside.
Accompanying the patties is a dill mayo sauce made by whisking together mayonnaise, lemon juice, and dill, which adds a fresh and slightly tangy note that complements the fish and celery. These tuna burgers are served hot, making them suitable for sandwiches or plated meals.
The recipe can be prepared ahead of time, refrigerating uncooked patties for up to a day or storing cooked ones in airtight containers for several days. Freezing is also possible for both uncooked and cooked patties, with guidelines for reheating or direct cooking from frozen provided.
