Easy Tuna Melts
Description
The recipe combines canned tuna with finely diced celery, sliced green onion, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to make a flavorful tuna salad. This mixture is spread over halved English muffins that have been lightly toasted under the broiler. Slices of ripe tomato and shredded cheddar cheese are layered on top, then baked to melt the cheese and heat the sandwich through.
The result is a classic tuna melt that balances creaminess, sharp cheddar, and the freshness of tomato on a slightly crusty base. Broiling the muffins first adds texture and warmth.
This dish serves well as a quick lunch or easy dinner. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated as needed.
