Egg Sandwich
Description
The Egg Sandwich centers on eggs whisked and poured into a buttered pan where bread slices are immediately placed on top, allowing the egg to coat the underside of the bread. Once the eggs set, the bread is flipped to cook the egg through. Mozzarella cheese is added and melted slightly as the sandwich is pressed, binding the bread and egg layers together. The salt and black pepper season the eggs directly for basic savory flavor. The method creates a sandwich with tender egg layers integrated with toasted bread that holds together without excess handling.
This sandwich is best served immediately to enjoy the melted cheese and freshly cooked eggs. It can serve as a straightforward breakfast or snack, using common kitchen staples. The use of mozzarella cheese adds mild creaminess that complements the eggs.
Careful attention to heat level prevents overcooking or burning the bread. Flipping and leaving a gap between the bread slices ensures the eggs cook evenly. This sandwich’s preparation depends on timing and gentle flipping to maintain its shape and texture.
