Ingredients
- 4-6 oz sparkling water (plain or Italian mineral water work well)
- 3 oz vodka
- 2 oz fig vanilla syrup (recipe in notes)
- 1 oz Meyer lemon juice
- rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
- additional sliced figs (for garnish)
Instructions
- Divide vodka, fig vanilla syrup, and Meyer lemon juice between 2 low- or high-ball glasses. Stir well, then top with plenty of ice and soda water. Garnish with a sliced fig and rosemary sprig before serving.
Notes
- Fig Vanilla Syrup
- 5 black mission figs, chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 tbsp water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Directions: Add all ingredients except vanilla extract to a small pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower heat to a simmer for 5-10 minutes until figs are tender and pink flesh is easily mashed away from skin with a spoon. Strain with a fine mesh strainer, add vanilla extract, and set aside to cool. Yields about 4 fl oz of syrup.
