Fish Tacos Recipe with Best Fish Taco Sauce!
Description
This recipe prepares tilapia fillets seasoned evenly with ground cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper, then drizzled with olive oil and dotted with butter before baking at 375°F for 20-25 minutes. The fish can be broiled briefly to brown the edges. The taco sauce blends sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and Sriracha for creamy heat. Tortillas are quickly toasted on a dry skillet before assembling.
Topped with crisp shredded cabbage, sliced avocado, diced tomatoes (optional), diced red onion, fresh cilantro, and crumbled cotija cheese, these tacos combine fresh textures with mild, spiced fish and creamy sauce. A wedge of lime provides a bright, acidic counterpoint when squeezed over assembled tacos.
This dish works well for casual dinners or get-togethers. The baking method avoids frying, while the array of fresh vegetables adds crunch and freshness. The sauce balances the spiced fish with creaminess and a touch of heat. Toasting tortillas prevents sogginess and adds warmth.
