Fluffy Dinner Rolls

Fluffy Dinner Rolls are soft yeast rolls made with a warm milk and butter mixture kneaded into flour combined with activated yeast. After two rises, the dough is shaped into 15 rolls baked until golden. Brushing butter on top before baking helps browning and adds flavor. These rolls offer a tender crumb and subtle sweetness, making them suitable alongside many meals.

Description

Fluffy Dinner Rolls start by proofing yeast in lukewarm water with a bit of sugar until bubbly. Meanwhile, milk is warmed with butter, sugar, and salt to dissolve. Mixing the yeast mixture with flour and the warmed milk blend forms a dough that is kneaded to smooth, elastic texture. The dough rises in a greased bowl to develop airiness.

The dough is punched down, divided into 15 portions, and arranged in a baking pan to rise again until puffy. Brushing tops with butter before baking at 425°F encourages golden color and adds a mild buttery note. The rolls bake until lightly browned and soft inside.

These rolls make excellent accompaniments to dinners and work well with soups or stews.
