Description

Foil Packet Meals use layers of ground beef or similar meats combined with a mix of red potatoes, carrots, onions, green beans, bell peppers, mushrooms, peas, corn, pesto, butter, garlic, and seasonings sealed tightly in heavy-duty aluminum foil. This creates an enclosed cooking environment where steam and roasting occur simultaneously.

Whether baked on a sheet at 350°F for about 30 minutes or grilled over medium-high heat roughly 10-15 minutes per side, the packets allow the ingredients to cook together with mingled flavors. The butter and garlic enrich the meat and vegetables, while the fresh or dried herbs and spices enhance aroma and taste.

  • 1 pound ground beef or a combination, or sausage
  • 1 cup red potatoes quartered, baby
  • 1 carrot , peeled and sliced into coins
  • ½ onion , sliced or chopped
  • ½ cup green beans canned
  • ½ cup red bell pepper , seeded and chopped
  • ½ cup mushrooms , sliced
  • ½ cup pea
  • ½ cup corn kernel frozen or fresh
  • ¼ cup pesto
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • salt Kosher salt and freshly ground
  • black pepper Kosher salt and freshly ground
  • herbs fresh or dried, of your choice
  • Spices fresh or dried, of your choice

Instructions

  1. Prepare 4 sheets of Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil into 12-inch sheets.
  2. Divide the ingredients among the four pieces of foil and place the food in the center of each piece, layering the butter, hamburger, and or sausage with the vegetables spices, herbs, and flavorings of your choice. Fold the two long edges toward one another and fold over once or twice then crimp tightly. Fold and crimp each short end of the foil toward the middle so that the edges are all tightly sealed.
  3. For cooking in the oven, bake on a baking sheet at 350ºF for about 30 minutes.
  4. For cooking on a grill, cook on medium-high for about 10-15 minutes each side, turning occasionally.
  5. Let the packets cool slightly before serving. Carefully open the packets and serve.
