Four Cheese Pepperoni Pizza Knots
Description
The Four Cheese Pepperoni Pizza Knots recipe uses pizza dough as a base, rolled into a rectangle and spread with pizza sauce, a blend of four Italian cheeses, and slices of pepperoni. The dough is folded over the filling and sealed, then cut into strips, each twisted and tied into a knot shape. Topping with any fallen cheese and Italian seasoning before baking at 500°F creates a crispy exterior with melted, gooey cheese inside. The knots provide a satisfying combination of tangy sauce, rich cheese, and spicy pepperoni wrapped in tender baked dough. They cool briefly after baking, allowing the cheese to set slightly but remain soft. These knots work well as snacks or casual party food and can be easily portioned for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 recipe pizza dough or 1 lb. from the store, fail proof
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups italian four cheese blend grated
- 1/4 cup pepperoni slices
- Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Line baking sheet with silicone baking mat and set aside.
- Roll pizza dough out into a large rectangle, about 16x20 {but doesn't have to be perfect}. Spread pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni onto half of the pizza dough, leaving a small edge border untouched.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the top of the pepperoni and cheese and press around the edges to seal. Cut into 8 even strips.
- Twist each strip, then tie it into a knot. Top with any grated cheese that fell out while tying and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Bake 8-10 minutes or until browned and cheese is oozing. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
