Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 Cup butter, softened
- 2 TBSP garlic powder
- 1 1/2 TBSP dried parsley flakes
- 1/2 TBSP salt
Instructions
- Remove your bread from the plastic bag and set plastic bag aside for later use.
- Cut your loaf of bread in half long ways.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, dried parsley and salt together and mix until well combined.
- Using a butter knife or spatula spread the butter mixture thoroughly to the insides of both halves of the bread.
MAKE IT NOW
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
- Using a sharp knife, cut into large chunks and place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
FREEZE IT FOR LATER
- Place bread butter side up on a baking sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
- Remove from freezer and combine the two halves of bread, butter sides facing each other.
- Wrap the loaf of bread thoroughly and tightly with plastic wrap, making sure every spot is covered.
- Now place your loaf of bread inside the bag it came in, making sure the majority of the air is out of the bag. Tie the bag with the bread tie it came with.
- Place in freezer and freeze for up to 4 months for best results.
- To bake, remove from freezer and allow to thaw for about an hour outside the fridge.
- Using a sharp knife, cut into large chunks and place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until golden.
Notes
- Substitutions and Variations
- Use about 5-6 fresh garlic cloves finely minced in place of garlic powder for this recipe.
- Vegan: Use plant-based butter and check that your bread is vegan.
- Low-Sodium: Omit the salt and use unsalted butter.
- Herb Variations: Substitute parsley with basil, thyme, or a mix of Italian herbs for a different flavor profile.
- Cheesy Garlic Bread: Sprinkle grated Parmesan or mozzarella on top before baking.
- Spicy Garlic Bread: Add red pepper flakes to the butter mixture for a kick.
- Garlic Bread Sticks: Slice the bread into sticks before applying the garlic butter for fun, dip-friendly shapes.
Sub Fresh Garlic instead of garlic powder: Use about 5-6 fresh garlic cloves finely minced in place of garlic powder for this recipe.
