French Fry Seasoning

Report
This French Fry Seasoning is a blend of salt, black pepper, garlic and onion powders, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and dried herbs like parsley, thyme, and oregano. The seasoning adds a balanced mix of smoky, spicy, and herbal notes to baked or deep-fried fries. It’s designed for tossed fries, enhancing crispiness and flavor with a touch of heat and savory herbaceousness. The recipe is adaptable to adjust salt, heat, and herbs to taste.

Description

The French Fry Seasoning recipe combines sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, parsley, thyme, and oregano. These ingredients mix into a powder ideal for applying over fries that have been tossed in oil before baking, resulting in a crispy, flavorful exterior. The smoked paprika and cayenne add smoky heat while the dried herbs contribute herbal complexity.

For use, the fries are coated with oil and then the seasoning mix before baking at about 200°C (400°F) until golden and crispy. For deep-fried fries, the seasoning is best sprinkled immediately after removing the fries from the oil while they are still hot to maximize coating.

This seasoning can be customized by substituting regular paprika instead of smoked if a milder flavor is desired, adjusting the cayenne or using red chili flakes for more heat, or even omitting the salt to control sodium. The blend provides a versatile, flavorful option to enhance frozen or fresh fries that are baked or fried.
