  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • butter or oil as needed
  • 8 slices of thick, sweet bread such as brioche or challah
  • Fresh fruit and maple syrup for serving for serving

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk the eggs, water, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until smooth and evenly incorporated.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add butter or oil to grease it.
  3. Meanwhile, dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing the excess liquid to drip off. Cook each side of the bread until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
