Fresh Homemade Mojitos
Description
Fresh Homemade Mojitos begin by juicing about seven limes to yield approximately one cup of fresh lime juice. Fresh mint leaves are added directly to the lime juice and muddled to release their oils and aroma. White rum and simple syrup—made from equal parts sugar and water boiled until sugar dissolves and then cooled—are combined into the mixture. The drink is then filled with ice and topped off with club soda for fizz, stirred gently to blend.
The cocktail features a bright citrus note from the fresh lime juice balanced by the cool, herbal mint aroma, with sweetness tuned by the simple syrup. The white rum provides a smooth base spirit, while the club soda adds refreshing bubbles to lighten the drink. Ice chills the mojito and dilutes it slightly as it melts.
Fresh Homemade Mojitos are served as a classic summer cocktail, great for gatherings or casual enjoyment. The balance of tart, sweet, and minty flavors makes it invigorating and easy to drink.
