Fresh Peach Lemonade
Description
To make Fresh Peach Lemonade, a peach simple syrup is first prepared by simmering whole peaches in sugar and water until the sugar dissolves and the peach flavor infuses the liquid. After boiling briefly, the syrup is cooled and strained to remove solids. Combining this syrup with fresh lemon juice and additional water creates a lemonade with natural peach flavor paired with lemon’s acidity.
The lemonade’s flavor and sweetness can be adjusted by varying the amount of syrup and water used. The use of freshly squeezed lemon juice provides the best bright acidity and aroma compared to pre-packaged juice. The choice of peaches affects color and taste; using red-skinned peaches and a mix of orange and white-fleshed varieties enhances color depth and flavor complexity.
Serve the lemonade well chilled with ice cubes, and garnish with lemon slices, peach wedges, or mint leaves to elevate the presentation and add subtle aroma. Pulp can be included or strained out depending on personal preference. This beverage is suitable for warm weather and casual occasions, offering a fresh and fruity alternative to standard lemonade.
The recipe notes provide practical tips such as rolling lemons before juicing to maximize juice yield, saving cooked peaches for breakfast or dessert, and adjusting water quantity based on ice usage to maintain optimal sweetness.
