Fresh Strawberry Lemonade

Fresh Strawberry Lemonade blends simple syrup, ripe strawberries, and freshly squeezed lemon juice to create a balanced sweet and tart drink. Blending the strawberries into a juice adds natural sweetness and color, while fresh lemon juice adds brightness. Served over ice with lemon slices, strawberries, and mint, this refreshing beverage suits warm days and gatherings.

Description

Fresh Strawberry Lemonade is prepared by making a simple syrup from equal parts sugar and water boiled until dissolved and cooled. Ripe strawberries are blended with a small amount of water to produce smooth juice, which can be strained if preferred. Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides a sharp citrus contrast to the fruit’s sweetness.

The combination results in a vibrant, lightly sweetened lemonade with natural strawberry flavor and aroma. Garnishes of lemon slices, sliced strawberries, and fresh mint leaves add visual appeal and complementary freshness. Served over ample ice, the drink refreshes and cools effectively.

This lemonade offers flexibility in sweetness by adjusting the simple syrup ratio. Techniques such as rolling or microwaving lemons help maximize juice extraction. Nutritional information varies depending on ingredients used, so adjustments can be made per taste or dietary needs.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup sugar for syrup
  • 1 cup water for syrup
  • 1 ½ cup strawberries fresh, ripe
  • 1 ¼ cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • ice loads

For Garnish

  • lemon slices
  • strawberry fresh, sliced
  • mint leaf fresh
  • ice more if needed

Instructions

  1. First let’s prepare simple syrup. Simple syrup is simply sugar and water syrup. Add refined sugar and water in equal measure into sauce pan. Bring it to boil. Let it continue to boil until all sugar is dissolved. Stir in between to help sugar dissolve completely.
  2. Remove from stove and let it cool down to room temperature.
  3. Note : Simple syrup can be made as per your preference. Some add equal measure of sugar and water, some add 1:2 ratio of sugar and water. It’s entirely up-to you.
  4. Take fresh ripe strawberries and add it to a blender. Add little water and blend it really well to get smooth strawberry juice.
  5. I didn’t mind straining the juice as it was blend very well in blender. But if you want you can strain the juice.
  6. Next squeeze lemon juice.
  7. Pro-Tip: To extract maximum juice from lemon, gently roll lemons on the kitchen counter applying mild pressure. This will loosed the lemon and help squeeze out most of its juices. You can also microwave lemon for 3 to 5 seconds before squeezing.
  8. Have few slices of lemon, mint leaves sprigs and few sliced strawberries kept aside for garnish.
  9. It’s time to stir up the lemonade!
  10. Into a pitcher first add cooled simple syrup, strawberry juice and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir it well with wooden stirrer.
  11. Add ice cubes, lemon slices, slices strawberries and few fresh mint leaves as well into the pitcher. Stir again.
  12. Cover and refrigerate it until ready to serve. You can make it ahead 2 days and store it in fridge covered completely. If making ahead, don’t forget to add few ice cubes when serving is it all gets melted.
  13. When ready to serve, pour it into serving glasses. Garnish with few lemon slices, mint spring and whole strawberry on the side of the glass.
  14. Use fancy cocktail mini umbrellas as well if it pleases you.
  15. This homemade strawberry lemonade will bring down the temperature a few degrees instantly.

Notes

  • Simple syrup can be adjusted in sugar-to-water ratio to control sweetness.
  • For maximum lemon juice, roll or microwave lemons briefly before squeezing.
  • Strain strawberry juice if a smoother texture is desired, though unstrained juice keeps more pulp and fiber.
  • Nutritional information varies based on ingredient choices and quantities.
