Fried Cabbage with Bacon

Fried cabbage with bacon combines sliced cabbage, diced yellow onion, garlic, and smoky uncured bacon sauteed together with chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and subtle seasoning. The cabbage softens while absorbing savory bacon flavor, with smoky paprika enhancing richness.

Description

This recipe starts by cooking chopped uncured bacon in a skillet until crisp, then adding butter and yellow onion to soften. Minced garlic is briefly sautéed to release aroma before combining with apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, brown erythritol sweetener, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Shredded green cabbage is stirred in with most of the bacon, then covered to cook until tender but still holding some texture.

The mixture is tossed again with the reserved crispy bacon pieces just before serving, adding bursts of smoky crunch. The vinegar and brown sweetener balance the smoky and savory components with a touch of tang and sweetness. This dish works as a flavorful side or light main, offering a tender, rich vegetable preparation with smoky notes from the bacon and paprika.
