Friendship Tea Recipe

Friendship Tea is a powdered blend of instant tea, Tang drink mix, sweetened lemonade drink mix, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Mixed into hot water, it produces a spiced, sweetened tea beverage that can be served hot or iced.

Description

The Friendship Tea recipe combines dry ingredients including instant tea powder, Tang orange drink mix, sweetened lemonade powder, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. These powders are mixed thoroughly and can be stored in an airtight container. When preparing tea, a tablespoon of the blend is stirred into 6 to 8 ounces of hot water, creating a flavored tea with citrus and spice notes.

The cinnamon and cloves add warmth and aromatic spice, complementing the citrusy sweetness from Tang and lemonade mixes. This powder mix allows quick preparation of a consistent tea beverage at home or for gift-giving when packaged attractively.

This tea blend is versatile and can also be served iced by dissolving the powder in hot water before pouring over ice. Garnishes such as cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and star anise can be added for extra aroma and visual appeal.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup instant tea
  • 2 cups Tang
  • 2 cups lemonade drink mix CountryTime, sweetened
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves ground

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a bowl. If you'd like, you can run the mix through a food processor to make the mix finer, but with powders we use I don't find it necessary. 1 cup instant tea, 2 cups Tang, 2 cups sweetened lemonade drink mix, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  2. Showcase the powder in a mason jar or another airtight container with a tag attached to it labled “Friendship Tea”.
  3. To make a cup of tea, stir 1 tablespoon into 6-8 ounces of hot water. Decorate with cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise if desired.

Notes

  • One tablespoon of the powder mixed with 6-8 ounces of hot water makes one cup of tea.
  • The blend can be stored in an airtight container and presented decoratively with a labeled tag.
  • To serve iced tea, dissolve powder in hot water first, then pour over ice.
