Frito Taco Pie Recipe with Crescent Rolls
Description
Frito Taco Pie Recipe with Crescent Rolls starts with cooking ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning and combined with water until the mixture is absorbed. The base is made by pressing crescent rolls into a pie dish as a crust. One cup of crushed Fritos is sprinkled over this crust to add texture. The seasoned beef is layered on top, followed by an even spread of sour cream and a covering of shredded cheddar cheese. Another layer of crushed Fritos crowns the dish before baking in a 400°F oven until golden brown. This method results in a flavorful, crisp pie with contrasting creamy and crunchy layers.
The contrast of the soft, buttery crescent roll crust with the crunchy Fritos gives a unique texture experience. The cheesiness blends with the seasoned beef and sour cream to balance spice and richness. Baking melds the flavors while crisping the top layer of chips.
This casserole-style pie works well for casual dinners or potlucks where a handheld, sliceable dish is convenient. It can be served alone or with a side salad or salsa for additional freshness.
