Frozen Pina Colada Recipe

The Frozen Pina Colada blends white rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and fresh pineapple chunks into a cold, tropical cocktail with a creamy texture. Blended with ice until smooth, it offers a refreshing balance of sweet coconut and tangy pineapple flavors. This drink is a popular choice for warm weather or casual gatherings, enjoyable when garnished with pineapple and cherries for a festive look.

Description

The Frozen Pina Colada Recipe combines white rum with pineapple juice and cream of coconut to create a smooth, sweet tropical cocktail. Fresh pineapple chunks add natural fruitiness, while the ice blends everything into a frosty texture, ideal for sipping on hot days. Using cream of coconut—a sweetened coconut mix designed for cocktails—ensures a rich, consistent coconut flavor, distinguishing it from unsweetened coconut milk.

The preparation involves blending all ingredients in a high-speed blender until reaching the desired icy consistency, then serving in a stemless wine glass. Additional crushed ice can be added if preferred. Garnishing with a pineapple wedge and a cherry completes the classic presentation.

This recipe allows adjustment of strength and sweetness by adding more pineapple juice if the cocktail feels too potent. Also, it can be prepared using a cocktail shaker instead of a blender, yielding a different but enjoyable texture.

Notes

  • Adjust the cocktail's strength by adding additional pineapple juice if it tastes too strong.
  • Can be prepared without a blender by shaking the ingredients in a cocktail shaker for a similar taste.
  • Use cream of coconut specifically for sweetness; canned coconut milk will not yield the same flavor.
