Fruit Cubes

Fruit Cubes are ice cubes made by freezing small pieces of strawberries, orange slices, lemon slices, and kiwi in clear, double-boiled water. These colorful cubes add a fresh, fruity twist to drinks like water or lemonade, providing subtle flavor and visual interest. The freezing method minimizes impurities for clear ice, enhancing presentation and taste experience.

Description

The recipe involves washing and chopping various fresh fruits such as strawberries, orange, lemon, and kiwi into small pieces. These are arranged in ice cube trays, optionally with herbs like mint slightly bruised to release flavor. Filtered water that has been double boiled and cooled is poured over the fruit in the trays to ensure purity and clarity.

After freezing for at least four hours or preferably overnight, these fruit cubes can be added to beverages for a mild infusion of natural fruit flavors and a decorative effect. The use of clear, pure water and double boiling reduces cloudiness and impurities, producing visually appealing cubes that match well with cold drinks.

The fruit cubes make it easy to add subtle flavor without dilution from melting plain ice. They can also be popped out and enjoyed on their own as small frozen fruit treats. These cubes pair especially well with water, lemonade, tea, or sparkling beverages, enhancing refreshment and appearance.

Using any available ice cube trays is suitable, but trays designed to reduce impurities help create the clearest cubes. Leftover cubes can be stored in the freezer for up to three months without losing quality.
