Garlic Bread with Cheese
Description
This Garlic Bread with Cheese recipe uses a whole baguette that is sliced lengthwise to create broad pieces ideal for generously layering with a fragrant mixture of crushed garlic, chopped fresh parsley, melted butter, and olive oil. The parsley adds herbal freshness while the garlic imparts pungent warmth. Topped with shredded mozzarella, the bread is baked until the cheese melts into a golden, slightly bubbly topping.
The result is a warm bread with a tender crumb and crisp edges, rich from the butter and olive oil, balanced by the aromatic herbs and garlic. Mozzarella brings a creamy, slightly stretchy texture and mild flavor. This bread is typically served alongside pasta dishes but can also stand alone as a snack or appetizer.
While mozzarella is suggested, other cheeses like cheddar may be used to vary flavor. Baking is quick, taking under 10 minutes at a moderate oven temperature to achieve melted cheese without drying the bread.
