Garlic Butter Chicken Tenders (The Best!)
Description
The recipe begins by seasoning chicken tenderloins with smoked paprika and cayenne to add depth and mild heat. Cooking in a hot cast-iron skillet with butter creates a flavorful crust while keeping the meat moist. Adding garlic and Italian seasoning after flipping the chicken infuses the butter sauce with aromatic elements, which coats the tenders as they finish cooking.
The final sprinkle of salt and a squeeze of lemon juice brighten the dish and enhance the seasoning. Parsley adds a fresh herbal note just before serving. Serving the tenders immediately ensures the chicken remains tender and the butter sauce retains its richness. The accompanying lemon wedges enable diners to add acidity according to preference.
This preparation works well for straightforward family dinners or appetizers where robust garlic butter flavor is desired. The method provides a relatively quick and precise way to prepare chicken with a balance of smoky, spicy, and fresh elements.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. chicken tenderloin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper powder
- 4 tablespoons butter room temperature, unsalted
- 3 - 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Simply Organic or McCormick brand, bottled
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon parsley chopped
- lemon wedges
Instructions
- Season the chicken tenders with smoked paprika and cayenne pepper, then set aside.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet (preferred) over high heat and add 3 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter melts and begins to sizzle, add the chicken tenders. Cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes, then flip and cook the other side.
- Push the chicken tenders to the side of the skillet. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, followed by the minced garlic, to the empty space in the skillet. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the chicken tenders and stir to combine well with the chicken and garlic.
- Add salt and lemon juice, and continue to cook the chicken tenders until they are slightly charred on both sides. Add the chopped parsley and stir to combine well. Turn off the heat and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Squeeze the lemon juice on top before serving.
