Garlic Butter Noodles

Garlic Butter Noodles are made with egg noodles coated in a garlic-infused butter sauce, finished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. The noodles have a rich, buttery flavor balanced by the mild pungency of sautéed garlic. The combination of cheese and herbs creates a comforting and savory pasta suitable for a quick side dish or a simple main course.

Description

This recipe starts by cooking egg noodles until tender according to package directions. Meanwhile, butter is melted in a skillet over medium heat, and minced garlic is cooked briefly to release its aroma without browning. A small amount of hot pasta water is added to the skillet to help create a smooth sauce.

After draining, the noodles are combined with the garlic butter sauce along with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Tossing the noodles in the sauce ensures an even coating and helps the cheese melt smoothly, binding the flavors. The dish is seasoned with salt and black pepper to taste and served immediately for the best texture and flavor.

The final result is a simple but flavorful pasta with a delicate balance of buttery richness, garlicky warmth, and savory cheese. The fresh parsley adds a hint of herbal brightness and color.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup butter 1/2 stick
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped, fresh
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a salted pot of water for the egg noodles and cook them according to package directions.
  2. When the noodles are about 5 minutes away from being done, melt the butter over medium heat in a skillet.
  3. Add in the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly (you want the garlic to be cooked but watch it doesn't brown too much/burn).
  4. Add in about 2 tablespoons of the hot pasta water and then drain the noodles and add them to the skillet, along with the parmesan cheese and parsley. Toss until the cheese has melted and the noodles are nicely coated. Season with salt & pepper as needed and serve immediately.
