Garlic Butter Salmon Pasta

This Garlic Butter Salmon Pasta features lightly floured salmon pan-seared to a tender finish, combined with a garlic-lemon butter sauce enriched by chicken broth. Tossed with al dente pasta and garnished with Parmesan, parsley, and red pepper flakes, it offers a balanced meal with rich, savory flavors and a touch of citrus brightness.

Description

Garlic Butter Salmon Pasta begins with cooking pasta until al dente. Salmon fillets are seasoned, floured lightly, and pan-fried in a blend of olive oil and butter, achieving a browned outside while maintaining a tender inside. After removing the salmon, the pan is deglazed with chicken broth, lemon juice, and minced garlic, simmered briefly to concentrate flavors into a buttery sauce.

The salmon is returned to the sauce and broken into bite-sized pieces, allowing it to absorb the sauce while finishing cooking. The drained pasta is then incorporated and tossed to coat in the garlic butter mixture. Parmesan cheese adds creaminess and depth, while optional garnishes like fresh parsley and red pepper flakes introduce freshness and subtle heat.

This dish combines flaky, flavorful salmon with a bright, buttery sauce and pasta for a satisfying dinner. The use of fresh garlic and lemon delivers a contrast to the rich butter and cheese.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/2 pound salmon fresh
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • flour for dredging
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • parsley optional garnish, fresh parsley
  • red pepper flakes
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • 4 ounces pasta uncooked

Instructions

  1. Boil a salted pot of water for your pasta. Cook it al dente according to package directions. I suggest starting the sauce once the water's boiling.
  2. Sprinkle the salmon with salt & pepper and coat it in the flour.
  3. Add the oil and butter to a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the salmon and cook it for 2 minutes/side, then take the fish out of the pan and set it aside (if you bought salmon with skin and don't want to eat it, you can easily peel the skin off at this point if you wish).
  4. Add the chicken broth, garlic, and lemon juice to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for about a minute.
  5. Add the salmon back into the pan and break it up with your spoon into bite-size pieces. Cook it for a few more minutes until it's cooked through and the sauce has reduced a fair bit.
  6. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet (you can add a little pasta water if you wish). Toss it & serve immediately with parsley, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese if desired.
