Garlic Drop Biscuits

Garlic Drop Biscuits are made from a flour base combined with baking powder, baking soda, salt, onion and garlic powders. Cold butter is cut into the dry ingredients, followed by Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh chives. Milk is added gradually to create a slightly sticky dough that is dropped by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet and baked until lightly browned, producing soft biscuits with a subtle garlic and cheesy flavor.

Description

This biscuit recipe mixes leavening agents with aromatic powders, lending gentle garlic and onion notes. The inclusion of cold butter cut into pea-sized pieces ensures a tender crumb by creating pockets of fat that melt during baking. Parmesan cheese adds a savory sharpness, while fresh chives contribute mild oniony freshness.

The dough is wetter than typical biscuit dough, allowing it to be dropped by spoonfuls rather than rolled and cut, simplifying preparation. Baked at 400°F, the biscuits develop a lightly golden exterior and a soft interior, suitable as a side for meals.

The recipe yields about 12 biscuits, and baking until lightly browned ensures doneness without overbaking, retaining a moist texture inside.
