Garlic Herb Baked Cod

Garlic Herb Baked Cod features cod filets topped with a compound butter made with softened butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, paprika, and other herbs, then baked with lemon slices. The result is tender, flaky fish infused with aromatic herb flavors and a touch of citrus brightness from lemon.

Description

This recipe uses fresh cod filets, spreading a blend of soft butter, olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper over the top. Lemon slices are arranged both beneath and atop the fish, infusing it with gentle citrus notes as it bakes. The dish cooks at a relatively high temperature until the fish is opaque and flakes easily, ensuring a tender, moist texture.

The herbs and spices in the butter mix add layers of flavor without overpowering the delicate cod, while the lemon adds a fresh acidity. Serving can be enhanced by spooning the flavorful juices collected in the baking dish over the fish before plating.
