Garlic Parmesan Grilled Shrimp Recipe
Description
This recipe features peeled, deveined shrimp tossed with olive oil and a simple blend of dried garlic powder, oregano, and basil. Grilling the shrimp over medium heat until they turn bright pink ensures a tender yet firm texture. After grilling, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley add brightness and freshness, while the grated Parmesan cheese brings a savory, slightly nutty flavor.
The shrimp cook quickly, making them convenient for weeknight meals or outdoor gatherings. The combination of dried herbs and cheese on grilled shrimp creates a layered flavor without overwhelming the natural seafood taste.
Serving these shrimp straight from the grill maintains their juiciness and texture. The method is flexible, however, allowing use of a cast iron skillet on the grill if shrimp size risks falling through grates.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Shrimp peeled and deveined (tails on or off, raw
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano dried
- 1/2 tsp basil dried
- 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese grated
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon juiced
- 2 tbsp parsley chopped, fresh
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to 350 degrees F and brush the grill grates with oil to prevent the shrimp from sticking.
- Make sure the shrimp is defrosted.
- Place the shrimp is a bowl. Add in the olive oil, garlic powder, oregano and basil. Toss the ingredients together to coat the shrimp.
- Then gently place the shrimp directly on the grill and cook for 1-2 minutes until the shrimp turns bright pink and is cooked through.
- Then move the shrimp to a plate. Top with the fresh lemon juice, chopped parsley and the grated parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
Notes
- Smaller shrimp can be cooked in a cast iron skillet on the grill to prevent them from falling through the grates.
- Ensure shrimp are fully defrosted before grilling for even cooking.
- Grill shrimp briefly to avoid overcooking, aiming for bright pink color and firmness.
