Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli
Description
This recipe begins by cutting broccoli into florets and coating them evenly with 4 to 5 tablespoons of coconut or olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. The seasoned broccoli is spread on a baking sheet and roasted at 425°F for 15-20 minutes until tender with some caramelization and crisp edges. Finally, lemon juice is added for brightness, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese adds a savory richness to the dish.
The roasting concentrates the natural flavor of the broccoli while the garlic imparts aromatic depth. The lemon juice provides a fresh counterpoint, and the cheese adds umami and texture variation. This combination yields an easy vegetable side with contrasting flavors and textures.
This dish pairs well with a variety of main courses and can be served warm as a side vegetable. The preparation is straightforward and uses common ingredients to elevate simple broccoli into an elegant accompaniment.
