Garlic Roasted Broccolini

Garlic Roasted Broccolini features tender-crisp broccolini tossed with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, then roasted until lightly browned. The dish balances savory garlic flavor with a slight crispness and tender texture. Roasting enhances the vegetable’s natural taste and adds subtle caramelization. A brief broil can add extra color and slight crispness. This simple side highlights broccolini’s slender shape and pairs well with many mains.

Description

The recipe begins by trimming and drying fresh broccolini, then coating it in olive oil blended with minced garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper. Roasting at a relatively high temperature for 9 to 11 minutes cooks the broccolini to a tender-crisp state while developing mild browning on edges without becoming dry. An optional quick broil at the end can add a touch of extra crispness and deeper color.

This preparation preserves the broccolini’s bright flavor and slight bite with the savory garlic and seasoning enhancing its taste. The straightforward technique requires attention to avoid overcooking, which can make the broccolini dry and tough, especially with thinner stalks.

Additional flavor components such as parmesan cheese or lemon zest can be added as desired to vary the profile. The dish serves well as a vegetable side for lunch or dinner and is quick enough for weekday meals.
