Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce - Recipe
Description
Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce - Recipe features chopped bhut jolokia peppers—the famous ghost peppers known for their extreme heat—sautéed with diced onions and tomatoes, then simmered with red wine vinegar, salt, and water. Cooking the ingredients together softens the vegetables and mellows the initial harshness of the peppers, while blending produces a smooth hot sauce texture. The balance between the intense heat from the ghost peppers and the tang from the vinegar creates a sharp, spicy condiment.
The sauce can be used sparingly to add fiery heat and acidity to meals, ideal for those who enjoy very hot sauces. It improves in flavor and heat intensity when refrigerated for some time, allowing the ingredients to further infuse each other. The resulting volume is about 2 cups, perfect for active use in the kitchen.
Handling ghost peppers requires care due to their very high heat level; gloves and caution are recommended during preparation to avoid skin or eye irritation. This hot sauce pairs well with grilled foods, eggs, and can complement various savory dishes that benefit from a strong chili heat component.
