Glazed Ham Loaf

Glazed Ham Loaf combines finely diced or ground ham with ground pork, sautéed onion, egg, bread crumbs, milk, and black pepper, baked into a loaf. A glaze of brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar is applied towards the end for a sweet and tangy finish. The loaf offers a moist, savory meat dish with balanced flavors and a sticky glaze.

Description

The Glazed Ham Loaf uses diced or ground ham mixed with ground pork, cooked onions, egg, seasoned bread crumbs, milk, and black pepper to achieve a tender, flavored meatloaf. The onions are cooked in butter to soften and infuse sweetness before mixing. The meat mixture is formed into a loaf shape and baked at 350°F until the internal temperature reaches 160°F, ensuring thorough cooking.

Partway through baking, a topping made from brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar is spread on top to create a sticky, tangy-sweet glaze that caramelizes in the oven. This glaze enhances the savory meat and adds moisture to the finished loaf.

Resting the loaf briefly before slicing helps retain juices. The combination of ham and pork produces a depth of flavor and rich texture, suitable for slicing and serving with sides such as mashed potatoes or vegetables.
