Granola Recipe
Description
This granola is made by dissolving brown sugar and honey into canola oil, which coats the old fashioned oats thoroughly. Added cinnamon and salt provide a subtle warmth and seasoning. The mixture is baked at a low temperature for an hour, with periodic stirring to ensure even toasting and prevent burning. Once cooled, it breaks into crisp clusters with a mix of sweet and lightly spiced flavors.
The gentle baking process keeps the oats from burning and allows them to achieve a crunch without dryness. The optional coconut flakes lend additional chew and a mild tropical note if included. This granola is versatile for use as a trail mix base or breakfast topping.
It can be stored in airtight containers for about two weeks at room temperature or frozen for longer preservation, ensuring it remains fresh. Adding dried fruits or nuts before serving can customize it further for taste or texture preferences.
